'AUTOMOBILE MAGAZINE' AND CHRYSLER TO PUBLISH SPECIAL TRAVEL EDITION

NEW YORK, May 27 /PRNewswire/ -- "Automobile Magazine" will publish its first special travel edition, with a working title of "Great Drives to Great Places," capturing the lifestyle-orientation of this automotive-enthusiast publication.
According to Group Publisher Terry Russell, "Great Drives to Great Places" will take advantage of our unique editorial style and the exciting vehicles produced by the Chrysler Corporation.
"In the seven years since the magazine was founded, David E. Davis, Jr., and his editorial staff have explored interesting cars within interesting environments, which is unique to the automotive arena. `Great Drives' build upon this foundation."
Chrysler will be the sole advertiser in this 100-page, perfect-bound publication, Russell added.
"It is one of these rare perfect fits for the sponsor and the magazine," explained John Damoose, Chrysler vice president-marketing.
"Great Drives to Great Places" in November will be mailed to "Automobile Magazine's" 500,000 subscribers and 300,000 copies will be placed on major-market newsstands.
"We will augment the three-month newsstand sales with point-of- purchase displays and local promotions," explains Russell.
Founded in 1986, "Automobile Magazine" has been the fastest growing automotive-enthusiast publication in history, having achieved circulation in excess of 500,000 within its first five years. Acclaimed by "AdWeek" as one on the nations's 10 hottest publications during 1991, "Automobile Magazine" is published by the K-III Magazine Corporation, which also produces "Premiere," "New York," "Seventeen" and "New Woman."
