Ruschell, of Santa Clarita Santa Clarita, city (1990 pop. 110,642), Los Angeles co., S Calif., suburb 30 mi (48 km) NW of downtown Los Angeles, on the Santa Clara River; inc. 1987. He was 43. ``Greg was such a true, genuine person,'' said his youngest sister, Laura Ruschell. ``You were blessed if you met him. He would talk to total strangers and it would be like you knew him forever.'' Ruschell, a Pennsylvania native, was an avid Steelers fan, and also rooted for the Pittsburgh Pirates. But he loved nothing better than a spur-of-the-moment trip, fishing off the Ventura coast or camping in Sequoia or at Lake Piru. ``He loved to take drives up to Ventura in the truck he loved and stop at the farmers market there. He was fun and adventurous. He loved life,'' Laura Ruschell said. ``He was always there when I needed him. He was a good brother.'' The fourth of eight children, Gregory Leo Leo, in astronomy Leo [Lat.,=the lion], northern constellation lying S of Ursa Major and on the ecliptic (apparent path of the sun through the heavens) between Cancer and Virgo; it is one of the constellations of the zodiac. Ruschell was born May 9, 1961, in Cannonsberg, Penn. His family moved to California in 1965, and he grew up in Reseda, attending Cantara Street Elementary, Northridge Junior High, and Notre Dame and Cleveland high schools. Ruschell worked 15 years as a custodian for the William S. Hart School District. His co-workers recalled that he frequently made lunch for them, especially smoked salmon and barbecue. ``Greg was a very friendly guy. He would go out of his way to help people,'' said co-worker Mary Valdes. `'He could chat with anybody and make you talk. He was a very good friend and he will always stay in my heart.'' Ruschell is survived by his parents, Regis and Mildred Ruschell; siblings Barbara, Celie, Regis, Millie, Mary, Nikki and Laura; and five nieces and six nephews. A private funeral will be held.
