'41 killed' in northwest Pakistan suicide blast

The bomber targeted the convoy as it passed through a security checkpost near a crowded bazaar in Alpuri town in Shangla, a district neighbouring Swat Swat (swät), district of the Malakand division, North-West Frontier Province, Pakistan. Saidu Sharif is the capital. The largely inaccessible region is reached by air and through mountain passes from the south and east.  valley and the target of a recent anti-Taliban offensive.
