WHO: Fifteen-year-old Darius Weems, who has Duchenne
Muscular Dystrophy, set off on a trip of a lifetime
on July 22, 2005. On behalf of all those living
with a disability, a crew of 11 college students
from Athens, Georgia, are traveling with Darius in
                   a rented 34 foot, wheelchair-accessible RV. Darius
is crossing America twice, exactly fifteen years
after the passage of the Americans with
Disabilities Act -- to test whether America is
accessible to people with disabilities. Learn more

WHAT: United Cerebral Palsy spokesman and
Oscar-nominated actor William H. Macy and
                   Emmy-nominated Desperate Housewife Felicity Huffman
will greet Darius Weems at the set of ABC's
                   "Desperate Housewives."

The Darius Goes West project will also motivate
and mobilize communities across the country to
protect professional caregivers. Darius is an
ambassador for www.WhoWillCare.net, a campaign for
caregivers created by United Cerebral Palsy and
the American Network of Community Options and
Resources (ANCOR). The project aims to protect our
                   nation's professional caregivers -- a group
severely affected by government funding caps and
cutbacks -- who provide vital support to millions
of people with disabilities and aging Americans.

United Cerebral Palsy (UCP), through the
generosity of national trustee Loreen Arbus, has
given $25,000 to Darius Goes West in honor of the
anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act.

    WHEN/WHERE: Across the United States
                   Now through August 14, 2005

Thank-you to The Beverly Hilton for providing complimentary
