$600; Rory Rees Brennan summarises his WSOP 2009 experience.YET another World Series passes. I only played four events; two PLO PLO abbr. Palestine Liberation Organization PLO Palestine Liberation Organization Noun 1. PLO ($5k and $10k) and two NLH NLH Nathan Littauer Hospital (Gloversville, NY) NLH Nonlinear Helmholtz Equation NLH New London Hospital (New London, NH) NLH Number of Levels in the Hierarchical Tree Structure ($1,5k and $10k Main Event) events. I felt I played more or less my best in all, bar the $5k PLO where I was probably a bit impatient and perhaps a little loose. To cut a long story short, I didn't go far in the $10k PLO and more or less bubbled both the NLH events. All in all it was a very disappointing series for me but I've been getting whipped by Vegas ever since I turned 21, so I'm getting used to it now. Maybe one day I'll have my vengeance with minimum cash in a $1500 event or something. With regards to my main event, I busted a couple of hours into day three. I started the day with 130k, while the blinds were at 600-1200-100 and the average stack being about 110k. My table draw for day three was about average, with some good and some okay players; however everything that really could have gone wrong for me, did. SICK I found a good few big pairs in the blinds or in late position, re-raised with them, got called, the flop was repulsive re·pul·sive adj. 1. Causing repugnance or aversion; disgusting. See Synonyms at offensive. 2. Tending to repel or drive off. 3. Physics Opposing in direction: a repulsive force. every time but I usually just C-bet strongly enough and either guys stuck in half their stack or else waited until the river to stick in a sick amount. I got very frustrated frus·trate tr.v. frus·trat·ed, frus·trat·ing, frus·trates 1. a. To prevent from accomplishing a purpose or fulfilling a desire; thwart: , as this happened three or four times and suddenly my stack was down to about 60k. I then tightened up for a while, until it was folded to me in the cut-off and I opened to 4200 at 800-1600 and the button re-raised to 12000. At this point I had just over 50k and had felt like I was just being pushed around and I'd had enough of this. I quickly shoved the 50k+ still hoping he could fold an AQ type hand. He called immediately and despite the J89 flop I couldn't hold vs. his AK. That would've got me back over 100k and back in the hunt but it wasn't to be. Even though I finished about 1500th with 650 making the money, I didn't mind too much since I felt I played okay over the three days and I learned a lot. Every time I go to Vegas I see so many good players, along with some very capable ones. I always feel like I've learned a decent bit in general and also about my own game. Back to the online PLO grind for me for a while. Not going to be playing sick amounts for the rest of the summer but I'll probably log in 20/25 hours a week! Someone's gotta pay for Vegas 2010!
