$50m downtown housing boost.


Downtown will receive $50 million in federal funding for affordable housing, said city and state officials.

The funds were announced by Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg and Governor Pataki in May as part of the comprehensive allocation plan for the $800 million in remaining LMDC LMDC Lower Manhattan Development Corporation (New York City, NY, USA)
LMDC Lake Merritt Dance Center (Oakland, California)
LMDC Logistics Management Development Course
LMDC Laser Motion & Development Company
 funds, after the affordable housing component was approved by the LMDC's Board of Directors.

The program is funded through a CDB CDB Common Database
CDB Caribbean Development Bank
CDB Convention sur la Diversité Biologique (Convention on Biological Diversity)
CDB China Development Bank (Beijing, China)
CDB Capital Development Board
 Grant from HUD Hud (hd), a pre-Qur'anic prophet of Islam. Hud unsuccessfully exhorted his South Arabian people, the Ad, to worship the One God. , and will fund up to 317 new units of housing of which up to 232 will be new affordable units that will benefit low, moderate, and middle-income households.

The program will also rehabilitate and preserve 2,854 units of existing affordable and subsidized housing Subsidized housing (aka social housing) is government supported accommodation for people with low to moderate incomes. To meet these goals many governments promote the construction of affordable housing.  throughout Lower Manhattan.

The amended proposal will fund the development and preservation of apartments in five separate projects throughout Lower Manhattan. First, on Site 5B, bordered by Greenwich, West, Murray and Warren Streets in Tribeca.
