$5.5 Million Contract Signed by PEAR Industries Subsidiary With Edge Craft, Ltd.TORONTO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 13, 1999-- PEAR Technologies Inc.'s (OTC BB: PEAR) wholly owned subsidiary ZOS ZOS - Zone Of Separation Petrochemicals petrochemical, any one of a large group of chemicals derived from a component of petroleum or natural gas. The cracking processes for manufacturing gasoline produce vast quantities of gaseous hydrocarbons. Originally considered waste products suitable only for use as illuminants and fuels, the gases today are manufactured into petrochemical substances widely employed in industry. Industries Corp., has signed an exclusive, $5.5 million contract with Edge Craft, Ltd., of Ontario, Canada, to supply their furniture manufacturing operations with high quality ABS and PVC plastics. Edge Craft, Ltd. is a leading manufacturer of extruded ABS and PVC edge banding for furniture and cabinets. The Company extrudes ABS and PVC with high impact resins and combines them with UV topcoats to provide an extensive group of resins, veneers and moldings. Edge Craft's clients include Canac Kitchens, Kneff, and others. Edge Craft Ltd. operates out of a 120,000 square foot facility in Southern Ontario. Their US Distribution Center is in Greensboro, N.C. Edgecraft will purchase an annual quantity of 6 million-plus pounds of ABS exclusively from ZOS Petrochemicals and potentially, and even larger amount of PVC, on an exclusive basis. ZOS distributes ABS (acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene) and PVC plastics. ABS is used in hundreds of product applications worldwide. Formosa Chemical has licensed ZOS Petrochemicals Industries Corp. (http://www.zospetrochemicals.com) to supply North American markets with their resins for use in multiple industries and thousands of product applications. ZOS Petrochemical's expected revenues from ABS sales in Canada alone is expected to exceed $13 million. This does not include revenues expected from sales in the United States. The Company is in final contract negotiations with two of the largest Canadian plastics manufacturing companies, and that country's largest manufacturer of auto parts.
