$44,000 SITE DEVELOPMENT GRANT APPROVED FOR FAYETTE COUNTY, PA., PROJECT

HARRISBURG, Pa., Feb. 12 /PRNewswire/ -- State Commerce Secretary Andrew T. Greenberg today announced the approval of a $44,000 grant to enable a Clearfield County ceramic product manufacturer to expand its operations into Fayette County and create 18 jobs.
The $44,000 Site Development Program (SDP) grant is being awarded to the Greater Uniontown Industrial Fund (GUIF) on behalf of Ceramic Fiber Technologies, which will establish a facility at the Greater Uniontown Industrial Park II in North Union Township. GUIF also is investing $44,000 in the project.
"SDP grants are a cost-effective way to help communities make key infrastructure improvements on potential industrial sites that result in new business investment and jobs," Greenberg said.
The grant will be used to extend sewer lines 1,100 feet to the site and to extend an access road to the site by 1,000 feet. Total cost of the infrastructure work is $88,000.
Ceramic Fiber Technologies, a DuBois-based manufacturer of ceramic products such as kiln doors, is establishing its second operation in Pennsylvania at the site at a cost of $235,000.
Administered by the Department of Commerce, the Site Development Program provides matching grants to municipal authorities to help pay for infrastructure improvements that will benefit manufacturing, industrial and travel-related companies.
