A single jackpot winner of $43 million who chooses the 26 graduated annual payments would receive approximately $1,075,000 the first year and $2,193,000 the 26th year (before 25% Federal withholding tax The amount legally deducted from an employee's wages or salary by the employer, who uses it to prepay the charges imposed by the government on the employee's yearly earnings. ). A single jackpot winner who chooses the cash option would receive the estimated cash value which is roughly half the announced jackpot or $41.5 million (before Federal withholding tax).
