$400K BLM grant to Chicago Botanic Garden. (News & Events).
The U.S. Department of Interior Bureau of Land Management (BLM) has
awarded $400,000 to the Department of Conservation Science and the
Institute for Plant Conservation Biology, housed at the Chicago Botanic
Garden, for use in conservation efforts. Two separate grants will be
used for (1) developing and implementing a conservation internship
program to assist BLM with promoting conservation of species-at-risk and
managing their habitat on public lands, and (2) investigating genetics
of threatened plant species in the Great Basin states of Oregon, Idaho,
Utah, and Nevada.
