$400,000.00 Was Raised at the Remedy Celebrity Winterfest Held in Lake Tahoe on March 11th and 12th to Benefit Special Olympics.


SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Nev. -- On March 11th and 12th some of the United States' most diverse celebrities and businesses competed on Lake Tahoe's ski slopes for The Remedy Celebrity Winterfest, raising $400,000.00 to benefit Special Olympics Special Olympics

International sports program for people with intellectual disability. It provides year-round training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type summer and winter sports for participants.
 Northern California Northern California, sometimes referred to as NorCal, is the northern portion of the U.S. state of California. The event was sponsored by Remedy and was held at Harrah's Lake Tahoe Harrah's Lake Tahoe, is a resort casino in South Lake Tahoe at Stateline, Nevada. It is branded with the name of its former owner William Fisk Harrah and owned by Harrah's Entertainment.  and Heavenly Ski Resort Heavenly Mountain Resort is a ski resort located on the California-Nevada border in South Lake Tahoe ( 38°56'7.40"N, 119°56'24.29"W). It has 95 runs and 30 lifts that are spread between California and Nevada and four base facilities. The resort was purchased by Vail Resorts, Inc. .

The 2005 Remedy Celebrity Winterfest included participants from companies such as Remedy, BMC Software, Cingular Wireless, Blazent, Enterprise Management Solutions, Ericsson, Kaiser, MedeFinance, North American North American

All proceeds from the weekend have been donated to Special Olympics Northern California and will support the Winter Games at Kirkwood Ski Resort, March 14th-17th. The concept of the Winter Games is designed as the culmination of the Special Olympics Northern California Winter Sports Season. Winter Games is an annual multi-sport, multi-day, Olympic-style event in a world-class setting. The 2005 Winter Games will involve approximately 250 athletes and coaches from throughout Northern California. Over 80 local volunteers will work to make this event a success.

The mission of Special Olympics is to provide year-round sports training and competition in a variety of Olympic style sports for individuals eight-years-of-age and older with developmental disabilities developmental disabilities (DD),
