The Alpha Charter Guild, which marked its 40th anniversary this year, was formed by wives of Antelope Valley Hospital doctors to provide the hospital with new equipment that it could otherwise not afford.

The Guild has made good on $90,000 of a five-year, $159,000 pledge. This past year, the guild raised money through its annual Debutante Fashion Show, Ball and a reverse opportunity drawing.
