$22m luxury hotel to open in Bahrain.
A new BD8.5 million ($22.54 million) luxury hotel is to be opened in the heart of Manama in August next year, it has been revealed in London.
The Park Grand Bahrain will be located at the premises of the old landmark Jashanmal Building on Al Khalifa Road, which is now being developed as a four-star family-cum-business hotel by Mashtan Hotel Management.
The project will be managed by the London-based Park Grand Hotels Ltd.
The announcement was made during the Bahrain Night, hosted by Shaftesbury Hotels managing director and vice president Ramesh Arora, in association with the Bahrain Telegraph magazine, at The Montcalm Hotel in Marble Arch, London.
The Bahrain Night was attended by delegates from Bahrain taking part in the World Travel Market, including top officials from the Culture and Information Ministry's Tourism Sector and Civil Aviation Affairs, as well as international guests.
A management contract was earlier signed by Mashtan Hotel Management chairman Hussain Ebrahim Al Mudaweb, with Park Grand Hotels director Rahul Arora.
Work on the new hotel is in progress and is scheduled for completion in August next year, said Al Mudaweb.
'The 120-room hotel will attract corporate clients and families from around the world,' he noted.
'We are proud to join hands with a renowned hotel management group which currently manages about 25 luxury hotels in central London.'
The new hotel will help promote Bahrain's drive to establish itself as a destination for international tourists, said Arora.
'We shall use our network to attract more tourists from UK and other parts of Europe to Bahrain, which is known for its hospitality, culutre and heritage,' he added.- TradeArabia News Service
