 is making $19 million available to Los Angeles Los Angeles (lôs ăn`jələs, lŏs, ăn`jəlēz'), city (1990 pop. 3,485,398), seat of Los Angeles co., S Calif.; inc. 1850.  for anti-terrorist and security costs, in addition to $12.5 million already earmarked to help make the nation's large cities safer.

The ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach also received a total of $9 million to beef up security.
