) Tuesday announced year-to-date orders from Korea totaling more than $45 million.

A $16 million contract from Hyundai is the largest single order.

"The Hyundai order covers multiple WJ-1000 systems for delivery from February through October 1995. It's another vote of confidence in our technology by a major respected customer," said Peter C. Shamshoian, SEG director of sales.

"The WJ-1000 atmospheric-pressure chemical-vapor-deposition (APCVD APCVD Atmospheric Pressure Chemical Vapor Deposition ) system, first shipped in early 1994, was developed for 0.35-micron dielectric dielectric (dī'ĭlĕk`trĭk), material that does not conduct electricity readily, i.e., an insulator (see insulation). A good dielectric should also have other properties: It must resist breakdown under high voltages; it should not  deposition on 200-mm (8-inch) silicon wafers," he added. "Its success adds to Watkins-Johnson's leadership in the doped-dielectric market segment."

Watkins-Johnson's orders growth has stimulated increased SEG investment in Korea, according to according to
