This month Cricket Communications, Inc, a leading provider of unlimited wireless services and subsidiary of Leap Wireless International, Inc, celebrates its tenth anniversary as a San Diego-based company. To celebrate, Cricket has created a two-year partnership with the YMCA of San Diego County. The partnership kicked-off yesterday at the MX LIVE Fest concert at the Cricket Wireless Amphitheater. The concert featured a line-up of the hottest Latin artists, as well as the presentation of a $100,000 donation from Cricket that will be used to support the YMCA's efforts to provide financial assistance and programs to low-income children and families.

As part of the partnership, Cricket has become the "Challenge Sponsor" for the YMCA's 2010 and 2011 annual fundraising efforts. This means that all new and increased donations made to the YMCA of San Diego County as part of its Annual Support campaign will be matched up to the limits of the grant. Ultimately, this funding will provide services for approximately 3,000 lower-income children and families in San Diego.
