$1.8 BILLION IN WORK UNDER WAY HAHN LOOKS FOR WAYS TO EXPEDITE 823 PROJECTS.

He also said it is important for the public to know how tax dollars are being spent. A detailed list of the projects is on Hahn's Web site at www.lacity.org/mayor.

More importantly, he said, it gives city officials an overview of the work that has been approved and allows officials to develop priorities as well as make sure that funding continues to be available for the projects from state and federal sources.

Hahn has created a special task force of city departments to oversee all city construction to determine ways in which work can be sped up to create more jobs in the city.

City officials said the list will be updated quarterly.

``The key question is where do they stand in the construction process and how soon can we get them going,'' Kyser said. ``The quicker the construction, the sooner the impact in a slowing economy.
