$1,000 USFAA scholarships awarded for 2006.


The US Field Artillery Association announces the six winners of the annual undergraduate academic or vocational scholarships and congratulates them on their outstanding accomplishments.

2006 Scholarships. The six $1,000 scholarships were awarded in the categories of immediate family of an enlisted member and immediate family of an officer member.

Family of Enlisted Member. Amy M. Jordan, of Lawton, Oklahoma, is a senior at Cameron University in Lawton, Oklahoma, majoring in Elementary Education and has a 3.47 GPA. Her husband, Staff Sergeant Brian D. Jordan, is a Small Group Leader at the Non-Commissioned Officer Academy at Fort Sill. He is a member of the Backbone Chapter.

Elissia R. Harrill of Lawton, Oklahoma, is a freshman at Cameron University in Lawton, Oklahoma, majoring in Biology and has a 3.65 GPA. Her father, First Sergeant Howard Harrill, is a First Sergeant with the Bravo Battery, 1st Battalion, 12th Field Artillery currently deployed in Kuwait. He is a member of the Prepared Professionals Chapter.

Family of Officer Member. Morgan M. Fulton of Stillwater, Oklahoma, is a Junior at Oklahoma State University Oklahoma State University, at Stillwater; land-grant and state supported; coeducational; chartered 1890, opened 1891 as Oklahoma Agricultural and Mechanical College, renamed 1957.  in Stillwater, Oklahoma, majoring in Nutritional Sciences with a 3.62 GPA. Her father, Colonel Christopher Fulton, is the Chief of Staff of the Joint Functional Component Command--Global Strike and Integration at Offutt AFB AFB

Jo A. Passet of West Bend, Wisconsin West Bend is a city in Washington County, Wisconsin, United States. Her husband, Major John Passet, is with the 426th Leadership Regiment of the Wisconsin National Guard The Wisconsin National Guard (“Guard”) has dual state and federal roles, and is jointly funded and maintained by both governments. Its federal mission is to provide trained units to the United States Army and Air Force in time of war or national emergency.  at the Wisconsin Military Academy. He is a member of the Wisconsin Chapter.

Elizabeth A. Siltman of Lawton, Oklahoma, is a junior at Oklahoma Christian University History

, majoring in Political Science with a 3.88 GPA. Her father, Colonel Frank Siltman, is Director of Training and Doctrine at Fort Sill, Oklahoma. He is a member of the Hard Chargers Chapter.

Member. Major James F. Baker, III, of Winston-Salem, North Carolina Winston-Salem is a city in the U.S. state of North Carolina. As of the 2000 census, the city population was 185,776; in 2004 the city annexed an additional 17,483 raising the population to 203,259. , is a graduate student at Appalachian State University History
Appalachian State University began in the summer of 1899 when a group of citizens of Watauga County, NC, under the leadership of D.D. Dougherty and B.B. Dougherty, began a movement to establish a good school in Boone, NC. Land was donated by D.B.

He is a member of the Fort Bragg Redlegs Chapter.

2007 Scholarships. The scholarships are for worthy USFAA USFAA United States Federal Aviation Administration  members and their family members to help them attain their academic or vocational goals. To compete, applicants must be admitted to an accredited accredited

recognition by an appropriate authority that the performance of a particular institution has satisfied a prestated set of criteria.

 university, college or vocational undergraduate program of study; and complete, sign and submit the application packet to the USFAA by the deadline (US Field Artillery Association, P.O. Box 33027, Fort Sill, Oklahoma 73503-0027).

The forms and details of the application are available by calling the Association at (580) 355-4677 or online at www.fieldartillery.org or The deadline for the 2007 USFAA Scholarships is 1 April 2007.

Potential applicants should note that incomplete packets will not be considered. Among other requirements, the applicant must provide a high school or college transcript, as applicable; an estimate of annual schooling expenses and itemization of his/her income and other grants or scholarships; three completed reference forms; and a statement of his/her educational goals.

In 2007, the Association will award at least one $1,000 scholarship in each of the three categories with the potential for the award of additional scholarships of the same or lesser amounts, depending on the availability of funds and the discretion of the USFAA Scholarship Committee; all decisions are final. Scholarship awards will be mailed directly to the winners' schools' scholarship offices or the bursars.
