The El Pollo Loco El Pollo Loco is a fast-food restaurant chain and Mexican grilled chicken franchise. "El Pollo Loco" is Spanish for "The Crazy Chicken".

Juan Francisco Ochoa started the restaurant in Guasave, Mexico, in 1975.
 restaurant in the 44400 block of Valley Central Way was robbed at gunpoint Oct. 16 by two men wearing El Pollo Loco uniforms who pistol-whipped an employee after being let in the back door.

``The owner has decided to offer a reward for information leading to the arrest of the suspects in this case,'' said Deputy Bobby Rush

On Oct. 16 at about 7:35 a.m., the manager and a female employee were getting the cash drawers A cash drawer is generally a compartment underneath a cash register in which the cash from transactions is kept. The drawer is usually divided into separate compartments for notes and coins for ease of use.  ready for the day when they heard a knock at the back door.

The manager looked through the peephole and saw two men dressed in El Pollo Loco uniforms. Believing them to be two employees scheduled to work that morning, he opened the door, deputies said.

The two men entered the store with handguns, forced the manager into a storeroom and walked into the office where the employee was counting money.

Thinking her manager might not know the gunmen were there, she called out a warning and was hit on the head with a gun.

The gunmen bound her hands with wire and loaded nearly $10,000 in cash from the safe.

When they heard a knock at the back door, the gunmen untied the employee and ordered her to answer the door - but before she did, the robbers fled through the front doors. The knock had come from other employees arriving at work.

The female employee suffered a cut to her head and was treated at the scene.

The first gunman was described as a male Latino between 19 and 22, standing 5 feet 1 inch to 5 feet 5 inches and weighing 145 to 150 pounds, with a shaved shave

The second man was described as a male Latino about 19 or 20, standing 5 feet 5 inches and weighing 130 to 140 pounds. When he entered the store he had a stocking pulled over his head.
