"Zine thing.

Finally this day has come--I am so happy that the annoying entity known as Big Brother is gone forever. In the back of my mind I have been waiting for several years. LA doesn't need a skate mag. When it first began my friends at the time, Brian Lotti and Jed Waiters, didn't agree with it already. People who were really cool never thought that magazine was cool. It started out OK and had some solid outsider roots, but before long it just turned into an asshole jock magazine, and outcast me as well. I rest as the sort of Cat Stevens figure who resents doing much work for it, most of which in the later '90s I didn't get credit for; only criticism of my annoyance being that it was concerning a skateboarding magazine. It did somewhat allow me to live off words and travel a lot, though. But it was so annoying having it around, For some reason people worshiped it to an extent, as some sort of corporate testimony, Everywhere I went people would ask me questions about it to no end; I just submitted things for money. According to the public, Earl was done with when be didn't want to be on staff. Fuck you everybody. I win. I never really took it seriously like I should have, I guess, in the big world of money and politics, and am so glad for it to be in the past. That shit was never cool. It was just a way to goof off for cash, so quit fucking bugging me about being once related with it. Especially people in the Midwest. You are dumb and will never accomplish jack shit. It did its job as a sort of iconoclastic 'zine-type mag, but it's (was) a magazine. I hate that fact and feel contaminated by the issue that I ever came to be known as some controversial writer. Don't worship things like that, just be into painting or something.
