"Wallace & Gromit" in episodic computer game

Claymation film duo Wallace & Gromit embarked on episodic computer game antics on Tuesday. Telltalegames.com made "Fright of the Bumblebees," the first of four computer game episodes starring the duo, available for download at its website.

Players can alternate between being the cheese-loving, absent-minded inventor and the brainy pooch that routinely rescues them from predicaments in the premier episode of "Wallace & Gromit's Grand Adventures."

"We're giddy with excitement!" Telltalegames said in a website posting announcing the game launch. "Well, except for Gromit. He's understandably wary..."

Wallace & Gromit have won a global following since British-made animated films starring the pair's antics originally aired on television in Europe some 20 years ago.

The characters have starred in videogames crafted for Microsoft Xbox and Sony PlayStation consoles. Telltalegames launched the four-episode set at a Game Developers Conference in San Francisco.

Episodes will be released monthly. Telltalegames is charging 30 dollars for the complete set.
