"Truckers news" sold to Randall Publishing.


Randall Publishing Co. (Tuscaloosa, AL) has acquired Truckers News magazine from the National Association of Truck Stop Owners The National Association of Truck Stop Owners (NATSO) is a Washington-based trade association of 1200 members belonging to the travel plaza and truck stop industries. The organization lobbies the United States federal and local government for laws favorable to their members.  (NATSO NATSO National Association of Truck Stop Operators (professional association of travel plaza and truckstop industry) ; Alexandria, VA). No terms were given.

The acquired title is described as the "no. 1 news and lifestyle magazine" for truckers. It is published monthly and is band delivered and displayed at more than 1100 NATSO-member truckstops and travel plazas. It claims a paid circulation of 183,000 and is designed to offer news on industry issues, technological and operational information as well as articles on lifestyle.

Randall has produced the magazine on behalf of NATSO since January 1999. While ownership transfers to Randall, the title will remain the official publication of NATSO. Randall president/ceo Mike Reilly Michael Eugene Reilly (born July 2 1949 in Sioux City, Iowa) is an umpire in Major League Baseball who has worked in the American League from 1978 to 1999 and throughout both major leagues since 2000.  said the purchase "is the next logical step, and serves to further solidify our relationship with NATSO."

Randall produces more than 30 periodicals, magazines and directories. Besides Truckers News, its Trucking Media Group includes Overdrive (processor) Overdrive - An Intel Pentium processor which fits into a socket designed to accomodate an Intel 486, or into a special upgrade socket on the motherboard.  and CCJ See citizen journalism.  Magazine, while the company's Construction Media Group produces Equipment World and Top Bid magazines.
