5x Annual Latin American Leadership Forum - March 13-15, 2007 Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic

WASHINGTON -- CG/LA Infrastructure LLC, the world leader in strategic infrastructure consulting, announced today the release of the project list for the 5x Annual Latin American Leadership Forum, to be held March 13-15, 2007 in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. Project developers present the Top 50 Projects in Latin America, and the Top 10 Projects in the host country. Overall enterprise value for all projects is $42.14 billion. "After five years of growth these are very strong projects offering an extraordinary range of business opportunities for participants in engineering, finance and equipment firms from executives of 35 countries around the world," according to Norman Anderson, President & CEO of CG/LA Infrastructure and the Latin American Leadership Forum.

The Top 50 Projects: Projects were selected from throughout the region, with a total of 17 countries presenting projects - the highest total in the five-year history of the Leadership Forum. Brazil leads the list with 9 confirmed projects, followed by Mexico, with 7 projects. Additional countries, with project totals in parentheses, are: Colombia (6), Chile (4), Panama (2), Peru (2) and with one each - Argentina, Costa Rica, Ecuador, El Salvador, Haiti, Honduras, Jamaica, Uruguay, and Venezuela all with one each. As the host country, the Dominican Republic will present a slate of 10 priority projects. A series of regional projects round out the list, including the TransAndean Railway ($220 million) connecting Argentina and Chile; the Feristsa Railway ($850 million), connecting Panama through Central America to Mexico; and the critical South American gas ring project ($4.5 billion) joining Peru, Bolivia, Argentina and Chile.

Projects in 10 Infrastructure Categories: The Panama Canal Expansion is the leader in terms of project size at $5.3 billion in total enterprise value, and will be presented by the Chairman of the Board of the Panama Canal Commission and Minister of Canal Affairs, Mr. Ricuarte Vasquez Morales. Project categories are the following: Strategic Projects of the Year ($13.8 billion); Electricity/General ($2.51 billion); Ports & Logistics ($3.3 billion); Highway Concessions ($6.17 billion); Water/wastewater ($1 billion); Digital ($1.43 billion); Urban Mass Transit ($2.06 billion); Renewable Energy Projects ($7.22 billion); Tourism & Housing ($2.25 billion); and Electricity Generation ($2.4 billion).

Speakers - Building the Region, Together: President Leonel Fernandez of the Dominican Republic will open the Leadership Forum - highlighting the $5.48 billion in projects to be presented from the Dominican Republic, designed to sustain a GDP growth rate that has averaged nearly 10% over the last two years. Other leading participants include: Enrique Garcia, Executive President, the Andean Development Corporation (CAF); Harry Brautigam - President, the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (BCIE); Yukiko Omura, Executive Vice President, MIGA/World Bank; Robert Mosbacher - President & CEO, OPIC; Linda Conlin - Vice Chairman, the Export-Import Bank of the US. Leadership Awards, Signing Ceremonies and Workshops: Project of the Year awards, sponsored by the Andean Development Corporation (CAF) will be presented in five categories: Finance; Engineering; Job Creation; Long-Term Performance; and Strategic Project of the Year. In addition, a series of agreements will be signed relating to project feasibility studies and project financing. Four infrastructure project feasibility agencies will be represented, representing budgeted resources of more than $100 million for feasibility study grants.
