HOUSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 17, 1997--Titan Resources Inc. (NASDOTC: TTRN) announced today that it has signed an acquisition agreement with The Gary Lewis Gary Lewis may refer to:

  • Gary Lewis, Scottish actor (Billy Elliot/Gangs of New York)
 Family Trust "GLFT GLFT Great Lakes Fishery Trust " to acquire 100 percent of GEL Exploration Ltd. "GEL" for shares in Titan.

GEL, a private Texas based Oil and Gas Exploration company, has significant land concessions approved by the Crown Minerals Group, Energy & Resources Division of the Ministry of Commerce of New Zealand New Zealand (zē`lənd), island country (2005 est. pop. 4,035,000), 104,454 sq mi (270,534 sq km), in the S Pacific Ocean, over 1,000 mi (1,600 km) SE of Australia. The capital is Wellington; the largest city and leading port is Auckland. . The company's on-shore concessions on the North Island of New Zealand cover an area of approximately 540,000 acres of Oil and Gas properties.  data analyzed by Titan indicate several large target zones within the properties. Titan will immediately initiate its own seismic program in order to pinpoint the several major targets prior to launching its planned drilling program.

Gary Lewis, the president and CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. Typically the president of the company, the CEO reports to the Chairman of the Board.  of GEL has been in the Oil and Gas Exploration and development business for more than 22 years. Lewis has extensive experience in seismic data acquisition and interpretation as proven by his 87 percent success rate when drilling his own seismic targets. Lewis will become the President of Titan Resources and assume the responsibility of operating the company on a day to day basis.

The acquisition of GEL further expands Titan's Oil and Gas Exploration and Development business, particularly with the addition of GEL's seismic and drilling capabilities to Titan's existing wireline and services network.

Titan believes that the acquisition of GEL will bring the necessary expertise and industry knowledge required to allow management to expand and execute the company's long term strategic plan. Terms of the acquisition include Titan moving its main office to Baytown, Texas Baytown is a city located along the Gulf Coast region in the U.S. state of Texas within the Houston–Sugar Land–Baytown metropolitan area. The city is mostly in Harris County with small portion in Chambers County, located along both State Highway 146 and  as well as the appointment of Lewis and Kenneth Nebel of GEL to Titan's Board of Directors.

Titan Resources Inc. is a natural resource company with interests in oil and gas exploration and development as well as the oil field service industry. Titan currently has operations in Baku, Azerbaijan, Bellevue, Wash. and Houston.
