"The Quest for America's Best -- QVC's 50 In 50 Tour" continues year-long, state-by-state series with forty-seventh live broadcast from Nashville.


NASHVILLE, Tenn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 2, 1995--QVC will go "live" Tuesday, Nov. 14 (6:00 p.m. to 9 p.m. ET) when it kicks off its forty-seventh of 50 primetime specials to support "The Quest for America's Best -- QVC's 50 In 50 Tour." Lamont's barbecue sauce and cookbook, a Jack Daniels Tipsy Cake, and Miss Daisy celebrates Tennessee cookbook are among the 20 diverse, native Tennessee products destined des·tine

Live from the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, customers and guests will gather to lend support to the homegrown stars of the state. The broadcast will be hosted by QVC's Judy Crowell and Lisa Robertson. "The Quest for America's Best -- QVC's 50 in 50 Tour" which spans nearly the entire year of 1995 is traveling to each of the 50 states in the Union to discover 1,000 of the best new American-made products, and then to highlight these treasures -- and the entrepreneurs who created them -- in a landmark series of 50 national primetime broadcasts.

"The Quest for America's Best -- QVC's 50 In 50 Tour' is an opportunity for 1,000 businesses to get their products on the map with national marketing and sales support, and get a shot at the American Dream," stated Doug Briggs, president of QVC, Inc.

To find these unique items and their producers, QVC merchandisers held a series of trade shows in collaboration with each state government at which 20 of the best indigenous items were chosen."

Briggs continued, "Our viewers will have the very first chance to purchase these special pieces of Americana. The winning products will be combined with entrepreneur interviews and unique location footage about each state on the specials, which will be viewed by the more than 52 million households nationwide that receive QVC."
