The Jussi Bjorling/Robert Merrill Pearl Fishers' duet is the greatest ever recorded. This is another recording my mother gave me, telling me I would have to learn to perform alongside other singers. It's quite a model to live up to! A few years ago, the Metropolitan Opera Guild had a luncheon for past, present and future Verdi singers. There's a huge photo from the event, where I'm sitting with the Ms. It was amazing a·maze
