 present the Pay-Per-View extravaganza, Backlash, live Sunday, April 30, 2000, at 8 P.M. Eastern.

In the main event of Backlash, World Wrestling Federation Champion Triple H will defend his title against The Rock. The Rock is seeking revenge against Triple H and McMahon for their actions at WrestleMania.  would make his return at Backlash in The Rock's corner to help even the odds. Backlash will be "Stone Cold" Steve Austin's first pay-per-view appearance since undergoing neck surgery in January.

Also on the card for Backlash, the World Wrestling Federation Intercontinental Title will be on the line as the champion, Chris Benoit Christopher Michael Benoit (IPA: [bə'nwɑ]) (May 21 1967 – June 24 2007) was a Canadian professional wrestler who wrestled for Extreme Championship Wrestling (ECW), World Championship Wrestling (WCW), and World , defends against Chris Jericho This page is currently protected from editing until disputes have been resolved. . Jericho is a former Intercontinental Champion, and Backlash will be his opportunity to regain the gold.

In tag team action, the World Wrestling Federation Tag Team Champions Christian and Edge will defend against DeGeneration X members X-Pac and Road Dogg. Both Road Dogg and X-Pac are no strangers to tag team gold, and will do anything to regain the titles.
