Established in 1989 as a newsletter, "scr(i)pt" magazine is published six times a year for a mixed paid and controlled circulation of 50,000 screenwriters and entertainment industry professionals, including agents, development executives, professional writers and aspiring as·pire intr.v. as·pired, as·pir·ing, as·pires 1. To have a great ambition or ultimate goal; desire strongly: aspired to stardom. 2. writers. Launched as a magazine in 1995, it covers "both the craft and business of screenwriting" and carries interviews with screenwriters, agents, managers, entertainment attorneys and filmmakers, articles on the screenwriting process, industry news and screenwriting opportunities. An annual subscription costs $25. An accompanying web site carries related resources and industry information. Final Draft is a screenwriting program that was first developed in 1991. Now widely used, it combines word processing word processing, use of a computer program or a dedicated hardware and software package to write, edit, format, and print a document. Text is most commonly entered using a keyboard similar to a typewriter's, although handwritten input (see pen-based computer) and with professional script formatting. The company also produces Final Draft AV, a multi-column script processor designed for writing commercials, corporate videos, documentaries, presentations and DV shorts. |
