"Sacramento Valley: Working Together Pays Off" Premieres Jan. 10.Ninth Episode of the "California's Water" Series SACRAMENTO, Calif. -- "Sacramento Valley The Sacramento Valley is the portion of the California Central Valley that lies to the north of the San Joaquin-Sacramento Delta in the U.S. state of California. It encompasses all or parts of ten counties. : Working Together Pays Off," the ninth episode of the "California's Water" public television series produced by Huell Howser Huell Burnley Howser (born 18 October 1945 in Gallatin, Tennessee) is a television personality best-known for his travel shows for PBS affiliate KCET. Howser's shows - California's Gold, California's Golden Parks, California's Water, Visiting... , is set to air January 10 at 6 p.m. on KCET KCET Konami Computer Entertainment Tokyo (Japan) KCET Kamaraj College of Engineering and Technology . It will then be available to air statewide on PBS PBS in full Public Broadcasting Service Private, nonprofit U.S. corporation of public television stations. PBS provides its member stations, which are supported by public funds and private contributions rather than by commercials, with educational, cultural, stations. Check your local listings for details. "The areas we saw were filled with lots of fish, lots of recreation, and they continually provide us with plentiful plen·ti·ful adj. 1. "These partnerships are very much a part of the California water story." The episode, sponsored by Regional Water Authority, takes viewers on a tour of the northern Sacramento Valley to hear how local water agencies are working together to implement 50 coordinated projects that will make water available to meet growing local needs and help the environment. Collaborative partnerships under way in the Sacramento Valley are helping to meet future needs for water while protecting the environment. Through a mix of short- and long-term projects and programs, local agencies are creating new water supplies, improving water quality and enhancing habitat for salmon and other species. This segment of "California's Water" focuses on two major cooperative efforts in the Sacramento Valley. Viewers will get a look at fish passage improvements, groundwater management, water use efficiency programs and other projects under way in both the metropolitan Sacramento area and the agricultural region to the north. In each "California's Water" segment, Huell Howser visits features of California's water system and gets an up-close look at various water management tools and challenges facing the state's water future.
