WEST CHESTER, Pa.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 21, 1995--QVC will go "live" Saturday, Oct. 7 (1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. ET) when it kicks off its forty-first of 50 primetime specials to support "The Quest for America's Best--QVC's 50 In 50 Tour."

Doubleglove Mittens for lovers, a hand-painted Hex Sign, and authentic Amish Shoofly Pie Mix are among the 20 diverse, native Pennsylvania products destined for national success during the broadcast to a national viewing audience of 52 million households by the very entrepreneurs who created them. This television event represents a partnership among the Pennsylvania Department of Commerce and QVC Inc., the world's preeminent electronic retailer.

Live from Philadelphia's Penn's Landing, customers and guests will gather to lend their support to the homegrown stars of the state. The broadcast will be hosted by QVC's Bob Bowersox, Steve Bryant, and Paul Kelley. "The Quest for America's Best-QVC's 50 In 50 Tour" which spans nearly the entire year of 1995 is traveling to each of the 50 states in the Union to discover 1,000 of the best new American-made products, and then to highlight these treasures--and the entrepreneurs who created them--in a landmark series of 50 national primetime broadcasts.

To find these unique items and their producers, QVC merchandisers held a series of trade shows in collaboration with each state government at which 20 of the best indigenous items were chosen. "`The Quest for America's Best-QVC's 50 in 50 Tour' is a national marketing and sales support opportunity for 1,000 businesses from all over the country," stated Doug Briggs, president of QVC Inc., based in West Chester. "Twenty entrepreneurs from Pennsylvania will have a chance on October 7th to get their products on the map and win a shot at the American Dream," he said.
