"Popular Taxis".

The CNTU CNTU Confederation of National Trade Unions  transport union has announced a new public transport project, the "Taxi Popular". These 1,000 taxis taxis (tăk`sĭs), movement of animals either toward or away from a stimulus, such as light (phototaxis), heat (thermotaxis), chemicals (chemotaxis), gravity (geotaxis), and touch (thigmotaxis).  will run on natural gas and will only transport three passengers at a time. 200 of these taxi units are already in the DR. Fares will cost RD$40 per person, reports Listin Diario. CNTU president Ramon Perez Figuereo says the project involves a RD$300 million investment, which the union and its drivers acquired through a private bank. Car owners are being given a financial package consisting of a RD$30,000 down-payment and daily repayments of RD$200 over the next five years. Perez said the cars would use gasoline gasoline or petrol, light, volatile mixture of hydrocarbons for use in the internal-combustion engine and as an organic solvent, obtained primarily by fractional distillation and "cracking" of petroleum, but also obtained from natural gas, by  until natural gas becomes available. If the new taxi system works, it could be a popular alternative to the oft oft
