"Peace Piano" event.Steinway & Sons introduces the Steinway Peace Piano, specifically designed to increase the public's awareness of UNICEF UNICEF (y `nĭsĕf'), the United Nations Children's Fund, an affiliated agency of the United Nations. For the next two years, this grand piano will tour the world in a series of special events, including concerts with world-class musicians as well as "perform-a-thons" by local children raising money to help other children around the world. The piano debuts this month in Philadelphia at the Curtis Institute of Music Curtis Institute of Music, in Philadelphia; coeducational; founded 1924 by Mary Louise Curtis Bok (later married to Efrem Zimbalist) and named for her father, Cyrus Curtis. as part of the celebration of Curtis's eightieth anniversary. In addition to spending the month of October in the Philadelphia area, the Peace Piano will visit other cities in the U.S., including New York New York, state, United States New York, Middle Atlantic state of the United States. It is bordered by Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut, and the Atlantic Ocean (E), New Jersey and Pennsylvania (S), Lakes Erie and Ontario and the Canadian province of and Boston, as well as major cities in Europe, Africa and Asia. Proceeds from events associated with the Peace Piano will benefit UNICEF. The Steinway Peace Piano marks the culmination of Steinway & Sons' 150th anniversary celebration.
