"Parent Soup" joins GNN's menu; "Soup" Creators iVillage Selected as GNN Studio Partner.


NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 10, 1996--Just three months into its launch, the online production studio iVillage has partnered with a major Internet player to bring its unique brand of consumer-oriented programming to the World Wide Web.

Under an agreement announced today, iVillage will become a "studio partner" of GNN GNN - Global Network Navigator , the Internet-based community news and entertainment network (on America Online See AOL. ). iVillage will be one of just ten outside content providers worldwide participating in strategic partnerships.

"Along with its substantial core of loyal users, GNN will be aggressively attracting new users to Web, which virtually assures us a substantial audience," Carpenter said. "GNN represents the next generation of packaging online, and iVillage represents the next generation of community-based content." GNN has offered "Parent Soup" prime positioning in the sections called "Voices" and "Netizens", Carpenter said.

"Parent Soup" is scheduled to launch in January on America Online, GNN and the World Wide Web. Along with "Parent Soup," iVillage plans to build "channels" on work, lifestyle, food, relationships, and health.
