The two-year-old beverage company announced today that it has just acquired the St. Louis-produced West End line of all-natural soda and fruit brews.

The continued growth projection for West End products is not unfounded. Since the brand's initial launch in 1992, West End has consistently outperformed the category, with 1995 revenues exceeding $11 million.

Other makers of "New Age" beverages, which are marketed as healthy as well as tasty, are also successfully targeting a growing population that desires better nutrition without sacrificing quality or gratification GRATIFICATION. The label on their Snake River beverages even reads, "Beware: Contents might be too good for you!" The formula has apparently worked, and now the Lewis and Clark Snake River Beverage Co. is poised to take further advantage of a dynamic market growing at double-digit pace.

The company will retain the West End trademark rather than absorb the new products under the Snake River name. By doing so, the company is following the model of industry giant Cadbury Schweppes Cadbury Schweppes plc is a confectionery and beverage company with its headquarters in Berkeley Square, London, England, UK. As a result, distributors and consumers may still look for and enjoy West End's full line of all-natural soda brews and fruit brews, unique beverages which require expert brew masters to steep up to 5,000 pounds of fruit for each batch.

By acquiring and managing this successful line of "New Age" beverages, those at Lewis and Clark Snake River Beverage Co. are really looking to put their name on the map -- right next to those other trailblazers with the same name.
