"Modern hygienist" from Advanstar Dental Media.

Advanstar Dental Media (ADM; Northfield, IL) has begun the publication of "Modern Hygienist," a magazine to be published ten times a year for a controlled circulation of 65,000 dental hygienists across the country. ADM said the title is also designed to be passed along to dental patients, "providing focused messaging to the professional and consumer market with one placement."

The new title is described as the first magazine that provides the information hygienists need to excel in their patient care, career and business and presents professional and consumer oral-care products "in context." It is designed to access the growing influence of dental hygienists in purchasing decisions both in the dental practice and in the home and presents a "best-practices, evidence-based approach to the products, services and strategies" related to the dental professions.

Editorial for the new magazine includes on such topics as patient education, diagnostic systems, operating equipment, radiology, materials, implants, ergonomics, infection control, lasers, digital photography, on-site practice, conflict management, pharmaceuticals, finishing and polishing systems, juvenile care, and esthetics, ADM also publishes "Dental Products Report," "Dental Products Report Europe," "Dental Practice Report" and "Dental Lab Products."
