Miracles on a Mountainside and lots of fun and excitement are waiting for you at the 19th Annual National Disabled Veterans Winter Sports winter sports: see bobsledding; curling; hockey, ice; ice dancing; ice skating; skiing; snowshoes; tobogganing.  Clinic in Snowmass Village, Colo., April 3-8, 2005.

"Don't put off signing up for the National Disabled Veterans Winter Sports Clinic," National Director of Voluntary Services Edward E. Hartman said. "It's a wonderful opportunity for disabled veterans to accomplish more than they ever dreamed possible while experiencing challenging and exciting recreation activities designed to enhance rehabilitation."

"The 2005 winter sports clinic will be a life-changing event for every severely disabled veteran who attends. It's where you push to your limits and beyond to experience victory over challenge after challenge, making your miracles on a mountainside come true. And you do it all on a snow-covered mountain alongside other disabled veterans who quickly become your friends and fans. The winter sports clinic is a week on the snow-covered slopes of the Rocky Mountains Rocky Mountains, major mountain system of W North America and easternmost belt of the North American cordillera, extending more than 3,000 mi (4,800 km) from central N.Mex. to NW Alaska; Mt. Elbert (14,431 ft/4,399 m) in Colorado is the highest peak.  that you will be smiling about for a lifetime to come."

The National Disabled Veterans Winter Sports Clinic is sponsored each year by the DAV See WebDAV.  and the Department of Veterans Affairs Veterans Affairs is a term of the business that deals with the relation between a government and its veteran communities, usually administered by the designated government agency. . It is open to all U.S. military veterans with severe disabilities, including spinal cord injuries Spinal Cord Injury Definition

Spinal cord injury is damage to the spinal cord that causes loss of sensation and motor control.
Description

Approximately 10,000 new spinal cord injuries (SCIs) occur each year in the United States.

Registration packets to attend the clinic may be obtained through the Recreation Therapy Service at any VAMC. After nearly two decades, thousands of severely disabled veterans have participated in the winter sports clinic. It remains the best opportunity for profoundly disabled veterans to learn adaptive downhill and cross-country skiing cross-country skiing
