"Kick-ass" black gay TV.

WRITER-DIRECTOR-PRODUCER Patrik-Ian Polk (Punks), isn't waiting for a network to green-light a pilot for Noah's Arc, a series he's created to follow the lives of four African-American gay men in Los Angeles, ranging from a single queen to a married professor with a child. Obviously, he says, "this is not a program that the powers that be are checking for. Why waste my time with HBO and Showtime?" Come May, Polk plans to place Noah, a sexually frank anti-sitcom starring "a kick-ass not cast," somewhere-hello, BET?--even if he only presses DVDs full of episodes to sell online.

He knows an audience is out there. "Noah's for black gay males hungry for this type of TV dealing with black characters they're not seeing anywhere else." As for other viewers who might check out this too-often invisible world, Polk promises an eye-opening experience. If anyone else "wants to take a peek into this world," he says, "it's gonna blow their minds."
