(Exercising the Right).Richard Huggins, 58, has been a clerk at Joe's Package Shop in Savannah, Georgia Savannah is a city located in (and the county seat of) Chatham County, Georgia (USA). The city's population was 128,500 in 2005, according to the most recent U.S. Census estimate. Savannah was the first colonial and state capital of Georgia. , for over three decades. He and other store employees keep guns handy, "just in case." At about 9 p.m. on June 25, 2002, two masked men entered the liquor store and announced a robbery. As one of the men, Jamison J. Dixon, 19, lunged at him across the counter, Huggins grabbed a gun and fired several shots. At least one struck Dixon. The second man dragged his wounded accomplice accomplice: see accessory. out of the establishment before running away. He died at the scene. Huggins was not harmed, and no charges were filed against him.
