"John Ehrlichman: In the Eye of the Storm" Available on Home Video Now.

VALENCIA, Calif.--(ENTERTAINMENT WIRE)--Oct. 20, 1998--John Ehrlichman, former White House counsel and chief domestic advisor to President Richard Nixon, said Tuesday he personally deplored the House Committee's early failures in not reaching a middle ground on the release of the Starr Report and, further, he believes that the continued prosecution of President Bill Clinton by the House is a mistake.

Ehrlichman made his comments Tuesday with the release of a three- hour documentary, "John Ehrlichman: In the Eye of the Storm," recounting his many years with Nixon.

Hosted by internationally known author Tom Clancy, this insightful program details the inner working of what Ehrlichman refers to as a "dysfunctional" political family: the Nixon administration.

Ehrlichman, who worked for the president from 1959 until 1973, when Nixon forced him to resign as a result of the Watergate Scandal, reveals many new and controversial details of the Nixon White House in a powerful and richly detailed account of those crucial years in our nation's history.

For Ehrlichman, the Clinton administration's current problems are "something I am very familiar with." As White House counsel and chief domestic advisor to Nixon, Ehrlichman found himself embroiled em·broil

In publicly stating his position for the first time, Ehrlichman said it was a grave mistake for the Republicans to cast Monica Lewinski as a femme femme

How does Ehrlichman expect the scandal to play out? "I expect Mr. Clinton will attempt to plea bargain plea bargain n. in criminal procedure, a negotiation between the defendant and his attorney on one side and the prosecutor on the other, in which the defendant agrees to plead "guilty" or "no contest" to some crimes, in return for reduction of the severity of the  and apologize his way through this exercise, trying for small daily victories in the courts, the House or the polls," he said. "Ultimately, however, I believe the likelihood is that the House is primed to go straight through to a bill of impeachment impeachment, formal accusation issued by a legislature against a public official charged with crime or other serious misconduct. In a looser sense the term is sometimes applied also to the trial by the legislature that may follow. ."
