The German-based IIT GmbH announces the release 1.2 of its free-of-charge JMS enterprise messaging system SwiftMQ.

Among several other enhancements, the release contains a JMS Bridge with which it is possible to connect any foreign JMS systems to SwiftMQ and thus to implement a "JMS Exchange" between different vendors.

"The JMS Bridge enormously expands the application fields of SwiftMQ," says Andreas Mueller, managing director of IIT. "Has our main concern been to establish alternatives to MQSeries or to WebLogic JMS and to compete with this established systems, we may now integrate and offer a real 'best-of' messaging infrastructure to the user."

According to Mueller it is possible by a SwiftMQ router to connect as many foreign JMS systems as desired which again may have any number of queue- and/or topic-bridges. The respective JMS clients work with their systems and their transaction contexts. The message exchange by the bridge is done completely transparent on the basis of the JMS API.

"With SwiftMQ there is no problem to connect several WebLogic and MQSeries systems by only one single SwiftMQ router and to enhance the messaging infrastructure by the worldwide unique Federated Router Network of SwiftMQ.
