"Interactive Content World" trade show to launch alongside COMDEX/SPRING and SPRING CES '97.

) announced today the creation of Interactive Content World, a trade show and conference showcasing the new generation of consumer products and services featuring the latest interactive technologies and communication capabilities. Interactive Content World will run concurrently with COMDEX/Spring and Spring CES '97, in Atlanta, Georgia, at the Georgia World Congress Center The Georgia World Congress Center or GWCC is the major convention center in Atlanta. It is the fourth-largest convention center in the United States at 1.4 million ft2 (130,000 m2) and hosts more than a million visitors each year. , June 2-5, 1997.

The new event is an extension of the technology focus of both the COMDEX and CES shows and is designed to support the needs of the existing consumer retail channels as it addresses the opportunity which this new category represents as well as the new distribution channels, such as book stores, toy stores and online services, which will play a key role in the merchandising of content-based product.

Interactive Content World will feature the latest entertainment, education and information and personal productivity content developed principally for open platforms, as well as a full range interactive and digital devices such as personal computers, internet computers, PCTV See PC/TV.  and internet-ready television. In addition, the new distribution technologies which are such an important element in the delivery of content-rich product, such as interactive television, satellite services and online services, will be on display.

An associated conference program will provide educational forums to address the technology and marketing issues confronting retailers, manufacturers, developers, distributors and end users as they face the increasing complexities of merchandising these emerging new product categories.
