"Instrument Design & Technology" from Webcom.Webcom Communications (Greenwood Village, CO) will begin the publication of "Instrument Design & Technology" magazine with an issue in August. Tag-lined "the magazine for manufacturers of instruments, test, measurement and monitoring equipment," the magazine will have an initial controlled circulation of 7000 and will be published six times a year beginning in 2007. A companion web site, e-newsletter and industry directory will also be launched. The magazine is being targeted to design engineers, management and technical professionals involved in the development and manufacturing of analytical instruments, clinical instruments, process instruments, test equipment, monitoring devices and measurement equipment. Content will cover the design and manufacture of instrumentation systems and devices for all markets including industrial, electronic, medical, scientific, laboratory and commercial, including editorial on technology advancements, business developments, market trends and product and service news. Content in initial issues will include information on sensors and data acquisition, electrical and electronic test equipment, photonics and optics, lasers, software advancements, technology reviews, market research and product launch reports. Webcom president David Webster said that "finally, there is a magazine that focuses on the information needs of instrument makers. There are many publications that serve the end-users of instruments and test equipment in various vertical markets, but this is the first trade magazine that directly serves the manufacturers in this dynamic industry."
