 seem like the kind of young man you would find living at a homeless youth shelter. He radiates confidence. He wants to finish high school. He has a goal to become a social worker, and he desperately wants to be a good father to his young son. But it wasn't was·n't

Just a few months ago Bradley had nowhere to live and no job. He moved into Tumivut (which means Our Footprints in Inuktitut), one of about 50 Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal young people living at the centre. Tumivut is unique among Toronto shelters because it provides a safe and secure home for youth for up to 18 months, while also offering skills crucial to staying off the street.

Bradley had been at Tumivut only a few weeks when went on his first canoe canoe (kən`), long, narrow watercraft with sharp ends originally used by most peoples.  trip. The experience has changed his life.

"It made me understand that I have a chance to be somebody, to make something of myself," he says.

"Tell people that their money is definitely not going to waste," Bradley says candidly can·did
