"I had a difficult year," Justice Stephen Breyer told the American Bar Association's annual meeting. "I was in dissent quite a lot, and I wasn't happy." You may recall similar reflections from Chief Justice Marshall, Justice Cardozo, and Justice Holmes. No? If Breyer is unhappy in his line of work, by all means let him find a new one. We're pretty sure we could come up with a replacement who would take to the job with enthusiasm.
