Belsay Hall Belsay Hall is a 19th century country mansion located at Belsay, Northumberland. It is a Grade I listed building. It has one of the most extraordinarily picturesque garden landscapes. The castle, hall and garden are the nucleus of an estate that has belonged to the Middleton family since the 13th Century. Best holiday you've ever had? I love going to Italy but the best holiday I have ever had was last Christmas when the whole family went skiing in Courchevel, France. We rented a wonderful chalet minutes from the slopes and had a chef who cooked dinner every evening. Bliss! Favourite thing in your home? My dogs, Lilly and Tilly, two gorgeous golden retrievers. Making our spa chain, Serenity in the City, a success. I like to be innovative and ahead of the game, so we're introducing semi-permanent make-up, an absolute must for any girl going away on holiday. Threading is the latest thing and a real alternative to eyebrow plucking or waxing, so we're starting that. I'm always trying out treatments at home and abroad to ensure that we always have something new. Who or what is the love of your life? My husband, Tom, and my children. Favourite shop? It is the sequel to The Da Vinci Code but I thought the book was better. What book are you reading at the moment? The Return by Victoria Hislop. It is a heart-rending tale of love, loss and passion set in the time of the Spanish Civil War Spanish civil war, 1936–39, conflict in which the conservative and traditionalist forces in Spain rose against and finally overthrew the second Spanish republic. . My all-time favourite book is The Kite Runner. What are you listening to on your music player at the moment? Duffy's Rockferry album. But I also love Andrea Bocelli. Favourite TV programme? Ever... would be Twin Peaks but I doubt many people will remember it. These days I like to watch Grand Designs and The Apprentice. What are you proudest of? My kids - they keep me on my toes. When and where were you happiest? I am always happiest when I'm at home with my family and friends, but my happiest memory is when Tom proposed to me at the Datai resort in Malaysia. Do you have any wisdom to share? Every morning when you wake up, you have a choice. You can choose to have a good day or a bad day - choose to have a good one and good things will follow.
