"Hospitality Construction" & conference from D&D Comm. in January.

D&D Communications Group (Cummings, GA), the publisher of "Healthcare Building Ideas" and "Retail Construction" magazines, has begun the publication of "Hospital Construction" magazine with a preview May/June issue. Regular publication will begin in January. The new title will be published six times a year and has a controlled circulation of hospitality executives, architects, engineers, contractors and related professionals.

D&D said the mission of the title is to "provide practical, hands-on information that will help (readers) produce better results" and is designed to serve the needs of design, construction and facilities operations professionals. Content for the title will focus on the relationships and people involved in the design, construction and facilities operation of hotels, motels and resorts. Editorial will include industry news, features, special sections on industry trends, project profiles and annual rankings of architecture, contracting, maintenance, sign and ownership companies.

Each issue will highlight a hospitality executive with an interview and an overview of that person's company and recent projects, with content geared toward helping readers "do their job more effectively," D&D said. Besides the lead profile, the premier issue includes articles on: leading facility maintenance firms; architectural issues in hotels and restaurants and in hotel/condominiums; acoustics; environment; HVAC; new products; airport hotel properties; and, flooring.

Also, D&D will launch the Commercial Construction Show, a three-day event for design, construction and facilities maintenance professionals in the retail, healthcare and hospitality industries, in Chicago from May 15-17, 2007. The show will host three current events that are produced by D&D, Retail Construction Expo, Healthcare Building Expo and Hospitality Construction Expo.
