"Heroes of Might & Magic" and "WetLands" make a dynamite duo for New World; both titles set to top the 100,000 mark in unit sales.


latest releases from New World Computing New World Computing, Inc. was an American computer game developer and publisher founded in 1984 by Jon Van Caneghem and Mark Caldwell. It was best known for its work on the Might and Magic RPG series and its spin-offs, especially Heroes of Might and Magic.  Inc. are posting strong sales numbers heading into the holiday season.

"Heroes of Might & Magic," a late-September release that has already shipped 100,000 units, and "WetLands," with sales of 95,000 units since its mid-October debut, are proving to be extremely popular with game players of all types.

"Heroes of Might & Magic," a fantasy-role-playing/strategy game set in an enchanting mystical land, is quickly becoming one of the year's most highly acclaimed titles. The title has already received the prestigious "Editor's Choice" and "Golden Triad" awards from PC Gamer PC Gamer is a magazine founded in 1993 devoted to PC gaming and published monthly by Future Publishing. The magazine features news on developments in the video game industry, previews of new games, and reviews of the latest popular PC games, along with other features  and Computer Game Review, respectively, as well as a five-star (out of five) rating from Computer Gaming World Computer Gaming World (CGW) was the first magazine devoted exclusively to computer games. CGW was founded in 1981 by Russell Sipe as a semi-monthly publication. .

"WetLands" is a futuristic underwater thriller, strikingly created using rotoscoped, cel animation. Players take on the role of John Cole, a bounty hunter Name for a category of persons who are offered a promised gratuity in return for "hunting" down and capturing or killing a designated target, usually a person or animal.  who must capture a madman with the ability to control the weather and return him to a cryogenic prison before he creates further havoc.

"We always try to develop titles for the different types of gamers, which is what we've accomplished with these two games. `Heroes' is for the strategy and role-playing fans and `WetLands' appeals more to the `Rebel Assault' player who wants to jump right into the middle of the action, but their individual success shows that there's plenty of room for both," said Scott McDaniel, director of marketing, New World Computing.
