SPRINGFIELD, Mass. -- Forever Cards announced today the launch of its innovative web-based service that allows customers to make arrangements to send personalized, comforting greeting cards to their loved ones after a customer's passing. Through its secure Web site, www.ForeverCards.com, Forever Cards offers customizable greeting cards for birthdays, anniversaries, holidays and other special occasions. Forever Cards customers can add their personal signatures or even create their own card from scratch using the Web site's tools.

Forever Cards' owners Melissa Picknelly and her husband, Peter Picknelly, created the unique concept after the passing of their parents.

Here's how Forever Cards works: After selecting a greeting card style from Forever Card's Web site, customers simply submit a delivery date - such as a holiday or a loved one's birthday - and a delivery address for their loved one. Using proprietary software to daily search the U.S. Social Security Administration's Death Master File and thousands of obituary Web sites, Forever Cards is able to determine when a customer has passed away. Then, Forever Cards mails the greeting card in accordance with a customer's wishes.

Forever Cards are high-quality greeting cards produced on glossy, 5x7 card stock - larger than traditional greeting cards and a perfect size for framing or displaying. The Web site provides for online orders, or a form to order by mail.

On the back of each card is a message to the recipient: "For this special day, your loved one cared enough to make arrangements for this card to be sent to you from ForeverCards.com. It's a way to let you know you're loved and will never be forgotten."

The cards will not be sent to a customer's loved one until 45 to 60 days after the individual's passing, so as not to interfere with the grieving process. The recipients will have the option of declining any further greetings, should they choose.
