Mary Ann Liebert, Inc. (MAL; New Rochelle, NY) has begun the publication of "Environmental Justice," a new quarterly, with a Spring 2008 issue. The new title is targeted to attorneys, legislators, policy professionals, environmental advocates, academics, planners, and related professionals, and is described as a forum for research, debate and discussion of the equitable treatment and involvement of all people, especially minority and low-income populations, with respect to the development, implementation, and enforcement of environmental laws, regulations and policies. Content includes perspectives from all parties involved in environmental justice issues, including community leaders, business executives, academics, government officials and nonprofit organizations. Editorial for the journal addresses: studies on the health affects on populations subject to health and environmental hazards; the protection of marginalized communities from inequitable environmental burdens; environmental and urban planning; health responses to environmental threats; environmental remediation; funding and relocating facilities that pose a hazard; and, the prevention of harmful policies and projects.
