"Death notice of the Liberal Party".

I write concerning the editorial in C.I., June 2009 (p.3). The final paragraph quotes Michael Ignatieff's statement of May 13 as one which can be the Death notice of the Liberal Party.

I sincerely doubt that even among what are considered staunch Roman Catholics, thinking women and men who do not disregard their gifts of 'understanding' and duties of responsible voting, would leave the Liberal Party of Canada because of its stand--as quoted:

It is the long-standing view of the Liberal Party of Canada that women must have the right to choose and this party will take no step that limits, or opens the door, to limiting access to safe medical services for women across Canada."

Should not both men and women have these rights?
